1972 Ads: Other Venues and Miscellany, Part 2

10/12/72 issue--predecessor to Crazy Eddie!

10/12/72 issue.

10/12/72 issue.

10/12/72 issue.  Jazz clubs are slightly off-topic but I found this interesting anyway.  Also liked the Titus Oaks ad...I think they had a Flushing location as well.

11/2/72 issue.

11/9/72 issue--sorry, I just love her.

11/16/72 issue.  The Beacon barely advertised at all during the year--not sure whether that's an indication of fewer live shows or not.

11/16/72 issue.  I didn't realize Imus was on "Double-U INN Bee Cee" as early as this.

11/16/72 issue.

11/16/72 issue.

11/16/72 issue.

11/23/72 issue.  His '60s Toronto stuff was really cool, I'll swear!  I'm hoping it might get some wider exposure, a la the rock press' recent creaming-their-jeans over a heavily circulated homemade bootleg of Bob Seger's early work.

11/23/72 issue.

11/23/72 issue.

11/23/72 issue.  The annual airing of "Alice's Restaurant" was no doubt the highlight.

11/30/72 issue.

12/7/72 issue.

12/7/72 issue.

12/7/72 issue.

12/7/72 issue--First Reno Sweeney ad I noticed.

12/14/72 issue.

12/14/72 issue.

12/14/72 "Scenes" column--more East Village jazzbo coverage.

12/14/72 issue.

12/21/72 issue.

12/21/72 "Scenes" column--Nostalgia for an age yet to come.

12/21/72 issue--Betsey Johnson's post-Paraphernalia shop.

12/21/72 "Cheap Thrills" column--Rock writer gossip.

12/21/72 issue.

12/21/72 issue.

12/28/72 issue.

12/28/72 issue.

That about wraps up '72!  I notice the Archive has restored some '71 issues that had mysteriously disappeared, so I'll quickly go back and gather ads from the weeks I missed before proceeding with '73.

I used to LOVE going to Titus Oaks! First time I went was to that Church Ave. location, but they had another one in Sheepshead Bay I used to go to more.
The Crazy Eddie ads are great too--especially the one about "They're after Crazy Eddie"--because they actually did eventually come for him! (Though not for being "crazy")
